Pictured above is the product, and below that is me with one layer of the products on my lips. Upon opening it, to apply it to my lips this morning, I noticed a perfume like scent, when I was expecting more of a strawberry scent. After the first layer I noticed it did dry quickly, and added some great color to my other wise drab look. (Honestly, this is me at 10 in the morning working from home.)
I do appreciate that it added some much needed color, now to see how it holds up with one layer during the rest of the day.
I will keep you posted....
Update1:
I went on to do two layers of color and finish it with the moisturizing gloss. After the second layer and being overwhelmed by the smell of perfume and alcohol, and the fact my lips were burning after application, I added the gold moisturizing and the burning came down dramatically to being manageable.
Update 2:
I took a look at the ingredients listed on the side of the color tube and I noticed what could be driving my lips nuts.(But it was great color, and it definitely lasted a bit, 2 days to be exact before the color wore off, which my husband liked.) The ingredients include: Alcohol Denat, Acrylates/Octylacrylamide, Copolymer, Isostearyl Alcohol,Silica, PPG-20, Methyl Glucose Ether,Parfum,Hydroxypropylcellulose,Butylene Glycol,Aqua, Isodonis Japonicus Leaf/Stalk Extract, Hypericum Perforatum(St. John's Wort) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract,Paeonia Suffruticosa(Tree Peony)Extract,Tilia Cordata(Linden)Extract,Citronellol,Limonene. +/- May contain: CI 77163,CI 77891,CI 77499,C I77492,CI 45410, CI 17200,CI 15850, CI 19140, CI 42090, CI 45370.
If you have a sensitivity to any alcohol, please beware this product does contain it. Also if you are one who has an allergic reaction to St John's Wort, this is a product that you will need to avoid, no matter how pretty the color. If the smell of perfume gets to you I can not recommend you use this, etc....
If you are allergy free, and can with stand perfume then go for it , this is the product for you in spades. As I mentioned before , when I got this and looked at the color name , I was expecting a scent of strawberry shortcake, not the knock out smell of alcohol and perfume. Color wise , it does last, and does a bang up job adding color to a lifeless face that need sa punch of color.
I do recommend though that you put the moisturizing gloss on immediately after you know the color is dry it will keep you from picking your lip, for others it will cool off your lips from the initial burning sensation that hits after color application.
But it does do the job and it is great for on the go, especially if you forget to do it before you leave the house on your date, appointment, etc...
Over all good job lipsense for creating a long lasting color for women, but if you are going to call a color Strawberry Shortcake, there better be the scent of strawberries in the mix, as with any color you name after something edible.
