A holiday classic re-imagined.....

During this holiday season, let us all remember those who have made our lives better.

How many of you remember the classic poem, "Twas the Night Before Christmas"?

Have you ever thought of how that apply to living in the west?

The web address you see below is to a beautifully re-imagined rendition of this holiday classic:

This version was written by a dear, sweet friend of mine late husband Christopher Winfield, for the National Cowboy Museum in Oklahoma City.

Please if you get the chance, go and plug the address into your search bar, I promise it will give you the holiday giggles and melt your heart all in one.

After listening if you are so inclined place your order for a copy, so that you can enjoy this each holiday as your family grows.(It would make a great gift that can be passed down). Don't let the book pass you by.

One of the best jewelers I have come across in a loooooong time! Spexton Fine Jewelry in Tulsa....

Spexton Fine Jewelry is a "hidden gem" of a jeweler in Tulsa,Oklahoma. For some when they need a jeweler in the Green Country Area, they usually look to their immediate community. Well over the last year, I have had the pleasure to welcome Spexton Fine Jewelry into my family. The have done some great work for me. In the last year, I have had my wedding band re-sized so I can wear it comfortably again. This year, I have been fortunate enough to have another ring re-sized, and one created from an antique/heirloom ring. The second ring I had re-sized just recently was my 16th birthday ring my mother got me from a local jeweler in Oklahoma City, when we lived there.(Before I had it re-sized, I had not worn it due to weight issues in 20+ yrs). I also this year, with Steve Cluck, his team and artisans was able to bring an antique/heirloom ring that had been passed down into the 21st century (re-imagined for the next generation of women in my family). If you have been to Tulsa, and down Cherry Street to check out the dining scene, you will know there is a little shopping strip across the way from Andolini's Pizza. You can find Spexton Fine Jewelry in that strip. When you walk in, there is so much to look at, and you are always greeted with a smile and "How are you doing today" when you arrive. When I took the wedding band and 16th birthday ring in to be re-sized they looked pretty rough, to say the least. But by the time i got them back, they looked like they did more than 20+ yrs ago, absolutely gorgeous. With the "generational ring" it was created from the antique ring pictured that had a stone missing. Between the jeweler, the artisan and myself it was decided that we woukd use the 3 largest stones from my great grandmother/grandmother's ring, and that i would contribute the new natural sapphires as my part.(originally, I wanted a way to combine my 16th birthday with the antique ring contents, but it was not in the cards to do.So that is why I had the 16th birthday re-sized to be able to wear and we created the other). Overall, the experience that I had was very positive and always has been. I highly recommend Spexton Fine Jewelry for your jewelry needs, they will help you find a budget friendly option and help you create the memorable piece that will last you a lifetime.
